       Long, long time ago, there was a strange bird name Bharund. It had single body but two heads. Its neck split in two branches holding a head each. Inspite of sharing a common body the heads we're distinguished. Each head had its own mind. They seldom agreed with each other.         If one mind wanted to go east, the other would wish to go West. As a result Bharund would take one step forward and another step backwards getting nowhere. This, the life of Bharund had become a tug-of-war between the two minds. The heads we're jealous of each other.          One day, Bharund was looking for food on the bank of the river. One of the head happen to see a delicious looking fruit on the ground.         It took a bite of it and yummed, "Umm, never tasted such delicacy. It is a God's great gift."         The other head said, "Really? Let me also taste it." ...

   There was a big water body connected to a river. The water body had stagnant water in which lichen, moss and many things grew that are a favourite food of fish. The fish swarm such places. Many fish came to this water body from the river lured by food. And for spawning, all the fish came their. This water body was hidden by tall grass and bushes.        A group of three fish lived there. They were different in nature and thinking. Anna fish believed in taking steps at the first sign of any problem coming. Pratyu fish was for tackling the problem only when it arose. Yaddi fish believed in fate. She thought that whatever will be, will be. There is no use of taking any steps. What is written in fate will do happen?           One evening, fishermen were returning home. They were sad because they had caught very few fish. Suddenly they saw fish catcher birds flying overhead. Each one was holding fish ...

         A washerman had an ass. The ass carried loads of clothes every day. The washerman was cruel and miserly. He gave the ass nothing to eat. Day by day,  the ass was growing weaker.         One night, the ass mate a jackal who was also wandering around. The Jackel asked, ''Mister Ass, why are you so week?"         The ass told the jackal his sad story, how he worked hard but was given no food and how difficult it was to find grass.         The jackal said, "Cheer up, Mister Ass. Your hungry days are over.  Believe me, there is a vegetable field some distance away. It is loaded with carrots, radishes, cucumbers, all kinds of gourds, brinjals, cabbages and juicy melons. I have made a secret hole through bushes. I break into that field every night and eat what I like. That is how I am in pink of health. You can come with me."            The mou...

                 It happened a long, long time ago. Four friends lived in lovely forest. They were-----a mouse, a fawn, a crow and a turtle. Very close friends they were, inspite of being different creatures. Everyone of them was ever ready to do anything for the others. The four would talk, play, tell stories, gossip and frolic around. There was a clear water pond in the forest. It was the home of the turtle. The crow lived on a tree that grew nearby. The mouse had his hole under that very tree. The fawn had made the nearby bushes his home.                     During the day, the turtle swam in the water or basked on the sandy bank. The rest of the three would set out in the morning in search of the food. They returned by the sunset time after the day long outing. That is when, all the four would get together...

             There was a huge tree on which live scores of swans. Among them was an old wise swan. He was very farsighted. All the swans respectfully called him “Wise one.”                One day he saw a tiny climber plant beginning to encircle the trunk of the tree near its base. The wise one called the swans and warned, Look, destroy that climber. Some day it will lead us to death.” A young swan questioned, “How can that tiny plant lead us to death?”               The wise one explained, “It looks tiny today. Soon it will climb up spiralling around the tree trunk. The main body of the climber will became strong and thick. It will attach itself to the tree and serve as a ladder to reach us. Then, any hunter would easily climb up to kill us.”        ...

              A battle was fought by two kings near a jungle. One of them won and the other lost. The armies returned to their capitals. Only a drum was left behind, a reminder of the war. The drum was used by one of the armies in singing songs of bravery to pep up its soldiers at night during the battle.                One day, a storm came. It forced the drum to roll away. The drum stopped near the stump of a tree and stood on one side. The stump had a few branches which would hit the drum whenever the wind blew. It made the drum make ‘Trum-Trum’ sound.              A jackal used to roam around that area. He heard the sound made by the drum. It frightened him. Education is the key of success in life.   In today’s busy lifestyle, parents do not have enough time to pay attention to children. But is it fine? of course not.                 If we do not have time for children, then do the children time for parents? This is like thinking. Because if we are busy today, our children will remain busy in the future. So we have to understand how much children need us. Yes, we also can’t deny that today’s busy lifestyle, in which both parents are working, it becomes difficult to pay attention to children. But if we feel that we need to raise children well, then we have to take time for children.          ...
